One of the massive 15 planes of glass that make up the Apple Store on Fifth Avenue in New York City has shattered.
The damage reportedly occurred when a snowblower mistakenly drove into the panel following a massive snowstorm. The store has stated that it will continue to remain open 24 hours a day, seven days a week as it works to fix the damage.
The flagship store was renovated in 2011 to switch from a 90 glass panel design to a much simpler 15 panel design. The renovation reportedly cost Apple roughly 6.7 million dollars, so fixing the newly broken panel probably won’t come too cheap.
It seems that even for retail stores, beauty can come at a price.
