If you’re an architecture buff, it’ll probably pain you to know that Steve Jobs has finally reached the point where his 1920s George Washington Smith mansion is being demolished. As of yesterday, crews have begun the demolition process.
The struggle has been long and tedious, and gaining permission to tear down the Woodside mansion was not easily accomplished. For years the Woodside Council deemed the mansion as historical and worth saving. It wasn’t until this year that an agreement was finally reached, and Jobs gained permission from the council to tear it down.
Jobs plans to build a new house on the lot.
Boom!, indeed.
