Apple has revealed that it will be giving away a free hour long introductory workshop on coding this Wednesday in its retail stores.
The move is being done in collaboration with the new “Hour of Code” campaign by CODE.org, which is aiming to get schools and students around the world to study and practice coding for an hour on December 11.
Visit your favorite Apple Retail Store on December 11 for a free one-hour workshop designed to demystify code and show that anyone can learn the basics of computer programming.
It should be mentioned that this workshop is targeted at youth, but if you feel as though you might be pushing it on the term “young”, CODE.org has a number of free interactive code lessons setup on its site that are good for any age.
Microsoft has also announced that it will be hosting free workshops in all of its retail stores throughout the week.
If you want to reserve yourself or your child for one of the Apple Store workshops you can do so online here. If you just want to learn more about the initiative or if you want to try some coding of your own, head here.
