Apple Snags Yahoo Executive For iAd Team

Apple has poached Jessica Jensen from Yahoo, and it’s being speculated that Jensen will be taking a job working under former Yahoo and Adobe advertsing executive Todd Teresi.

From All Things D:

Sources said Jensen is taking a job at Apple, working for former Yahoo and Adobe advertising exec Todd Teresi, who was recently tapped to head the mobile iAd division … Previously, Jensen worked on strategy for Yahoo’s Americas unit, arriving there three years ago from LowImpactLiving.com, a green-housing-sector site that she founded and led.

iAd has taken quite a beating in the advertising circles the last couple of years. The mobile advertising initiative from Apple has been much maligned since its announcement in 2010. Since its release, Apple has continously dropped its minimum advertising contracts to accommodate demand for its iAd platform. iAd contracts originally had a floor of $1,000,000, and as of February 2012 the minimum contact amount now sits at just $100,000, a tenth of its original value.

It seems that Apple is continuing its revamp of the advertising property by hiring adveritsing executives from competitors. Hopefully it helps the company turn around the advertising initiative. iAd enabled applications haven’t been showing very many ads these days.
