Apple has hired Kevin Timmons according to sources, but his capacity at Apple is still unknown. Previously Timmons was the general manager of Microsoft’s data center group, and he has also previously worked for GeoCities/Yahoo.
All Things Digital believes that Timmons may be taking on a bigger role than that of a data center manager. But, they were unable to confirm with Apple or Microsoft what Timmons will be doing in the future.
It sounds like Kevin Timmons comes very highly regarded in the industry, so it’ll be interesting to see where he fits into Apple’s data center plans in the near future.
