Delays and waiting times seem to be the theme of Q4 for Apple. The company is now saying the release of the iTunes software update will be pushed back to November. It was at the iPhone 5 release in September that they promised a complete iTunes overhaul ready in October.
Apple Spokesman Tom Newmayr told CNET that the new iTunes was taking longer than expected and they wanted a little extra time to get it right. “We look forward to releasing this new version of iTunes with its dramatically simpler and cleaner interface, seamless integration with iCloud before the end of November,” Newmayr said.
iTunes 11 is expected to include a better layout and improved performance. Making playlists is going to become easier, plus you’ll be able to do full-library searches. Apple will be improving iCloud integration so you can access your music wherever you are. Top it off with a completely redesigned mini-player and a full-window interface on your Mac or PC.
Some are blaming the delay on Apple’s management changes. Others say with the Apple Maps debacle and Tim Cook’s apology right on their heels, they want to make sure iTunes 11 is in top form before its release.
