One of the easiest ways to tell when Apple is about to pull the trigger on a new product is to watch the news wire for information about the Apple Store, and what the company is doing with their employees.
We don’t mean getting rumors from the employees — they generally know squat — but we mean large changes, like overnight shifts, or huge hiring sprees. We’ve seen both of these things happen in the past, most recently it was an overnight shift the day before Lion was released. Today there’s rumors that Apple’s looking to hire a substantial number of new employees between now and September to help with the back-to-school season, a traditional release time for the company, albeit for iPods and not iPhones.
MacRumors is reporting that Apple has been sending out emails to previous employees asking them to return to the company between August 15 and September 15 to help with the “holiday” season.
This time around, though the,re’s a lot of rumors suggesting that new iPhones will trump new iPods in September, so this hiring spree is an interesting development when considering everything we know. New iPhones are en route, and hopefully they land sometime this century, or more specifically in early September. September could gear up to be a huge month for Apple should they release, like the rumors suggest, the iPhone 5 as well as iOS 5 before students take off back to school in the fall.
