Apple has added two-factor authentication to its iCloud.com web apps. Users who have enabled two-factor authentication on their Apple IDs will now have to enter a special security code that is sent to a trusted iPhone or iPad before gaining access to iCloud web apps or the iWork for iCloud productivity suite. It’s worth noting that two-factor authentication is not required for Find My iPhone, which can help you track a stolen iOS device.
Apple introduced two-factor authentication for Apple ID in March of 2013. At the time, this service was strictly for iTunes purchases and did not cover any of Apple’s cloud services. If you’d like to start using two-factor authentication to protect your Apple ID, you can follow our tutorial.
