Amazon has removed an advertisement from its front page that compared the Kindle Fire HD to the iPad mini that has now been proven to be inaccurate. Amazon stated in the ad that their Kindle tablet includes dual stereo speakers while the iPad mini only includes a mono speaker.
iPad mini reviewers this week have come to learn that the tablet does in fact include stereo speakers, making it the first iPad to do so. The new fourth-generation iPad still only includes a single speaker.
While it is understandable how Amazon could have made such a mistake, it has certainly come back to bite them.
As for the iPad mini speakers themselves, they’re apparently not bad. A “good-sounding set of stereo speakers,” said Joshua Topolsky in his review for the Verge. Now as for the iPad mini’s screen, that’s a different story.
