Netflix has confirmed via Twitter that it will officially release the 15 episodes, yes 15, of Arrested Development season 4 on May 26, 2013. It will go live in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Ireland, Latin America, and Brazil at 12:01 AM Pacific Time. The length of the season is up one episode from earlier reports, so you have even more Arrested Development to look forward to than most originally thought.
Just like with Netflix’s own original series, House of Cards, all 15 new episodes of Arrested Development will be available at the same time, making binge viewing possible. It will be available in all markets where Netflix operates at the same time, which often isn’t the case for televised content.
The entire core cast of Arrested Development will be back for season 4, including Jason Bateman, Michael Cera, Jeffrey Tambor, Jessica Walter, Tony Hale, Will Arnett, Portia de Rossi, David Cross and Alia Shawkat.
“Arrested Development is now widely viewed as one of the top TV comedies of all time and [show runner] Mitch Hurwitz is bringing it to Netflix in a brand new way, crafted for the on-demand generation that has come to discover the show in the years since it last appeared on TV,” said Ted Sarandos, Chief Content Officer for Netflix. “The highly anticipated return of this show is sure to make history all over again.”
There you have it. May 26. Mark your calendars. We’re pumped.
