As promised I’m here with an update regarding my Time Capsule recall. I contacted AppleCare regarding the recall. I spoke with a representative, and he said that Apple is only recalling Time Capsules that are having a power issue. Since mine is not currently displaying this issue, Apple cannot service or replace it at this time. However, he did say that if for any reason within the next year or so the Time Capsule does display the power issue, or has any other type of issue to go ahead and take it into an Apple Store and have a Genius look at it.
I asked the Genius whether I would get a new or refurbished Time Capsule if it had to be replaced. He said that Apple will replace it with a new one. He also stated that Apple generally will not reissue the Time Capsules as a refurb. I guess I’ll find that out if and when I have to have my Time Capsule replaced. With that said, I’m going to be backing up my sensitive data to be on the safe side, just in case my Time Capsule decides to go south.
Has anyone encountered the same type of response from Apple? If so, let us know by leaving a comment below.
