Keynotes are for the fans. The stuff Apple shows off is intended to get the crowd clapping, and the Internet tweeting. That certainly happened today, but like most, we were left wondering about the details of OS X Lion, and what it would take to run the new beast OS.
Apple has updated their Mac OS X page with information on both how to buy Lion (The Mac App Store) and what it will take to run the OS. Turns out that the only benchmark they’ve set for the new OS is that your Mac must be running on an Intel Core 2 Duo at the very least. You can also get away with the Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processors.
In addition to CPU specs, you must also have an updated version of Snow Leopard running on your machine. At this point, if you’re not on Snow Leopard, you might as well run out and purchase it. Although, we’d also like to know why it took you so long to upgrade in the first place.
