Finally, a rumor that has nothing to do with the iPhone 5.
Word on the street is that Apple’s MacBook Pro is in line for a design refresh.
The current design was implemented back in 2008. The unibody construction allows the company to build its notebooks to be more sturdy and simple inside, leading to fewer parts that are stronger.
In February, the MacBook Pro line saw a modest internal spec bump, as well as the addition of ThunderBolt I/O. However, iLounge reported several weeks ago that bigger changes are in the works:
Next year is the year when Apple will introduce an all new design for the MacBook Pro product family, which is already under development at Quanta in Taiwan. It?s being described as a big, ?milestone? release for the Pro family, as compared with the speed bump features that will be introduced in [February’s] models.
With OS X Lion in the pipeline for this summer, I’d welcome a nice update to Apple’s Pro notebooks.
