We love Courier at Macgasm. Currently, I use it to upload all of our podcasts to various locations at once. For the uninitiated, Courier lets you set up “airmail” envelopes to various locations like Amazon S3, Facebook, Flickr, YouTube, and others so that you can drop a picture or video onto the envelope and have it deliver that media file to all the locations at once.
There are some services that we would like to see included with the application, like RackSpace’s Cloud Files service; however, the company has been adding additional services to their application. Today, Realmac Software has added Tumblr support to Courier, making easier to upload all those hipster-esque photos and videos to your Tumblr account. Pretty snazzy.
The latest version of Courier has also included better YouTube integration. In the past uploading our podcast to our YouTube page often resulted in a failed attempt. Realmac Software has put Courier on sale, for a limited time, at the awesome price of $1.99 on the Mac App Store.
Obviously Courier isn’t for everyone, but if you send a lot of media to multiple locations, then you may want to check this application out. It’s worth every penny.
