It’s been a while since we’ve checked in on the nifty Spotlight replacement application Found. We featured them in a post back in June. Found has had a huge update, and it’s now available in the Mac App Store. The application now features a built-in Evernote search, a SkyDrive search as well as Retina graphics, and some other nifty features that make the application worth a second look if you wrote them off the last time we wrote about them. We should point out that the application already searches Google’s Gmail service and Google Drive.
We’ve recently moved to Evernote for a lot of our Macgasm document needs, and I can’t really see us looking back on that process any time soon. Being able to search our Evernote repository directly from an app like Found is huge news for us here.
Apple’s really doing a disservice to its customers by not integrating Spotlight with more apps and web services. I mean, what better way to render Google’s search page useless by letting people search the web and services from Spotlight. Thankfully applications like Found have come along and fixed the problem.
The app is free on the Mac App Store. There’s no reason why you can’t check it out.
