Just because Apple hasn’t shipped its new iMacs doesn’t mean there aren’t knockoffs on the market yet. MIC Gadget has posted photos of a Chinese iMac knockoff that goes under the name “Lavi”. The Lavi isn’t a horrible computer as it’s powered by either an Intel Core i3 or Core i5 processor with 4GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD option. When purchasing the Lavi, you can choose from two operating systems: Windows 7 or Windows 8.
The Lavi’s design are where things get interesting. The folks who “designed” it actually paid attention to detail when copying the iMac. The front of the machine looks identical to that of the iMac, though the Apple logo has been replaced with “Lavi”, which is written in a large font. The Lavi is also pretty slim, coming in at only 0.9cm at its thickest point. This is just 0.4cm thicker than a real iMac. Finally, the Lavi also features a similar cooling system to that of the new iMac as the fan vents are located at the bottom of the machine.
Lavi is currently on sale in China with various prices ranging from $500 to $650 depending on the options and add-ons you choose when ordering the computer.
