Settlers of Catan, which started out as a popular boardgame, is already available on the iPhone and iPad, but today the game has made its way to our desktops. It’s now available on the Mac App Store.
Catan for Mac follows the original “Settlers of Catan” rule set and includes expansion packs: Seafarers and Cities and Knights. In the game, you’ll found settlements, build roads and use your trading skills to become Lord of Catan.
The game offers two different graphic sets, realistic 3-D graphics or genuine board game mode, and two special scenarios: “Enchanted Island” and “Great Canal.” You can play against smart computer opponents with individual tactics plus local multiplayer mode, and it’s integrated with Game Center so you can view achievements and local game stats.
Catan was developed with the designer of the original board game, Klaus Teuber, and promises to stay true to the original game. You can grab Catan for Mac from the App Store now for $16.99 (not a typo).
