Not only has OS X Mountain Lion been released today, but so have updates for iLife creative apps and a new version of Safari. While Safari 6.0 comes preinstalled with OS X Mountain Lion, what about users who don’t plan on updating from OS X Lion right away? As it turns out, they’re in luck. OS X Lion users are now receiving updates for Safari, which bring new features such as the “Smart Search Field” (unified search bar), Do Not Track as well as other features that make Safari more user friendly. However, as of now, iCloud Tabs and Tab View are currently not available for OS X Lion users.
Updates to the iLife suite include:
iMovie 9.0.7:
• Fixes an issue related to third-party QuickTime components that could cause iMovie to quit unexpectedly
• Resolves stability issues when previewing MPEG-2 video clips in the Camera Import window
• Fixes an issue where audio was not included when importing MPEG-2 video clips from a camera
iPhoto 9.3.2:
• Supports compatibility with OS X Mountain Lion
• Sharing options now include Messages and Twitter
• Includes performance and stability improvements
Apple’s popular photo editing app — ‘Aperture’ — has been updated to version 3.3.2. The changes include:
• Supports compatibility with OS X Mountain Lion
• Addresses issues that could affect performance when entering and exiting Full Screen mode
• Auto White Balance can now correct color using Skin Tone mode, even when Faces is disabled
• Projects and albums in the Library Inspector can now be sorted by date in addition to name and kind
• Includes performance and stability improvements
