Apple has just lowered the prices of both the 2011 Mac mini and MacBook Air on the Apple Refurbished Store. The 2011 model Mac mini is now starting at just $699. This is the higher end model that includes a 500GB hard drive, a 2.5GHz dual-core i5 processor and a dedicated AMD Radeon HD 6630M graphics chip. The lower end 2011 2.3 GHz Mac Mini, which was retailing for $519 via the Apple Refurbished Store, has already sold out.
If the MacBook Air is more your style, you can grab a 1.6GHz 11-inch MacBook Air with 2GB of RAM for only $749. Both of the higher-end 2011 Airs are also available via the Apple Refurbished Store. The 128GB model with 4GB of RAM is available for $829 while the same model with a 1.7GHz processor is retailing for $929.
If you’re looking for a sub-$1000 Mac, any of these options should fit your needs. I personally own a 2011 Mac mini and use it daily for writing and light photo editing. My mini handles both of these tasks flawlessly and accompanies my MacBook Air for daily tasks.
