The game that got me back into gaming on the Mac is coming to the iPhone on Thursday — World of Goo will be available for OS X, iPad, and now the iPhone. 2D Boy has announced on their blog that the game will be available for $0.99 for the first 24 hours after release.
The game will also get an update on the iPad that will turn the game into a Universal App. That means if you want to play the game on your iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch, you’ll need to buy the World of Goo HD edition on Thursday; however, if you’re looking to play the game only on your iPhone or iPod touch, you can buy the World of Goo edition.
It seems a little bit backwards that the HD version of the application is universal, while the non-HD version only supports the iPhone and iPod touch. It’s unconventional, but hopefully it works out for 2D Boy — World of Goo is great.
If you have an iPad, and you don’t want to wait to download the game, you can get it on the App Store.
