You’ve probably never heard of LostWinds, the 2008 adventure WiiWare game from Frontier Games. It’s by the same studio that brought RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 and Elite to the PC. Today news dropped that a direct port is due on iOS later this year.
There’s neither screenshots nor a release date yet, but David Braben, Founder and Chairmen, did mention at Develop (the annual gaming conferencing in Brighton, UK) that it’s going to use a virtual joypad on the screen’s corner to control Toku, the game’s protagonist. That’s all he was allowed to share.
The WiiWare original is an understated, beautiful game, so we can’t wait to see what it’ll look like on the iPad.
