With the iPhone 5 so close to being released, a lot photos of alleged parts for the new phone have been released. Repair firm, SmartPhone Medic, has put together a video comparing all of the leaked iPhone 5 parts with the existing iPhone 4S parts. While the video doesn’t show any new information or parts, the video offers a look at the changes that can be expected in the new iPhone.
The biggest differences between the iPhone 4S and iPhone 5 are, as we’ve all heard, the size of the screen and the new dock connector port. The video also shows a comparison of the front panel and flex cables for the external controls between the two iPhones. As shown in the video, the iPhone 4S flex cables hold the headphone jack, volume rocker, and vibrator switch, while the iPhone 5 removes the jack and adds a sleep/wake button control.
The new headphone jack is now thought to be placed at the bottom of the handset, similar to the iPod touch. The video also shows the wake/sleep controls being relocated and a noise/cancellation microphone added.
We won’t know for sure if this is what the iPhone 5 will actually look like until it’s released. Until then, check out the video above to see what else is different between the iPhone 4S and the next-generation iPhone and what we can expect to see in the next iPhone.
