Earlier today Tom Richardson, an Apple-focused YouTuber, brought a new Touch ID bug to our attention. According to Richardson, Apple’s iPhone 5S allows for 5 different fingers to be added to each of the 5 available Touch ID slots on the iPhone 5S. According to the video he posted, these slots can contain up to five fingerprints from five different fingers, not just one. This means that Touch ID can actually store up to twenty-five fingerprints one device, twenty more than the five advertised by Apple. To recreate this bug, simply scan five different fingers in when adding a new fingerprint to Touch ID. For more information, check out Richardson’s video posted above.
