Many of us remember the days when the Sidekick was the king of the cell phone. The available “apps” were few, and incredibly shitty, but this was long before anyone had ever seen the iPhone. Hands down, the most popular and noticeable feature of the Sidekick series was its slide-out physical keyboard. In an era dominated by capacitive multitouch screens, there are a few people who miss the Sidekick style physical keyboard today. Luckily, there is a solution for this particular problem.
This snazzy little iPhone case available on ThinkGeek is everything a Sidekick fan could want. It attaches to any iPhone 4 or 4S, and includes a hidden slide-out chiclet keyboard. How does it work? Space magic. No, just kidding. It connects to your iPhone via Bluetooth. Once you set it up the first time, you can type away at will. When you’re done, slide the keyboard back in, and people will just think you have a ridiculously thick iPhone case.
Surprisingly, it looks like this device is “on sale” for $34.99 USD. It lists for $49.99 USD, but we all know the marketing tomfoolery around MSRP and list prices. That said, there is no reason to wait. If you’re interested, just go ahead and pick it up before some smartass decides to prove me wrong.
