Are you looking for an acoustic amplifier for your iPhone that also allows you to plant a plant as well? The Bloombox has you covered. The Bloombox is a new iPhone dock that started seeking funding last week. This dock features a cool hollow square design.
This dock allows for natural amplification of the iPhone’s speakers without using any external power. The inside of the speaker can be used for planting a small cactus or other small plant. If you’d like to charge or sync your phone via the Bloombox you can run a standard 30-pin cable through the bottom of the box. Another plus? The Bloombox is made in the United States.
Personally, I think that the Bloombox is a great concept, and the design makes for a nice centerpiece on your desk, coffee table or nightstand. The Bloombox is also functional as you can use it as a planter and a dock.
The only thing I’m not so excited about is the possible change of the 30-pin connector. If the new iPhone does ship with a smaller dock connector, the Bloombox may or may not fit with the new iPhone. However, this can’t be determined until the new phone actually ships.
Other than that, I really like the Bloombox and may be preordering one if it indeed works with the new iPhone.
