A new app under the name Artist Canvas has hit the App Store with a hidden gem: unofficial tethering. The app is advertised as a simple drawing app that allows users to quickly draw sketches using different colored pens. Once you’re finished with a drawing, you can save it for later viewing.
However, after following a few tedious steps, the application allows you to connect a tethered laptop or desktop computer to your iPhone’s data plan free of charge. Though the app doesn’t include instructions on how to tether with your computer, the embedded video shows you all of the instructions needed. This functionality bypasses all carrier tethering plans, making it useful for AT&T unlimited users who do not have the ability to tether their data plan to another device.
