Siri is now running smoothly, for the most part, on all iOS 5 devices. To be specific, those devices are the iPad 1, iPad 2, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod touch 3G, and the iPod touch 4G.
Jackoplane, the mastermind behind this hack, has announced today that he has successfully ported Siri to other devices running iOS 5, and has gotten them to communicate with Apple’s servers without any issues. What this means essentially is that all iOS 5 devices are indeed capable of running Siri. The best part? No jailbreaking is required.
I know you’re anxious right now. All you want to know is when, where, and how. Well folks, don’t hold your breath. Although the main part has been done, Jack says, “the hardest part is still ahead.” Regardless, the best part besides Siri being available on iPads and iPod touches is that you don’t have to jailbreak to get the assistant when she becomes available. Jack mentioned that you’ll use a program called NSFileManager. This allows you to access the files of your iOS device directly. However, something tells me that Apple will be working on patching up the open access points soon.
