It seems like these days everything interesting you could write about always comes down to Lion or iPhone 5 rumors. Every day there are new possible release dates and other information. And while we’re still waiting for Lion to appear in the App Store today, there now is another new rumored release date for the iPhone 5.
CNET UK reports today that Apple has started advertising job positions on the British employment website Reed. Posted by Gekko Ltd., a company Apple has worked with before to find new staff for its shops, the job description reads: “Full-time iPhone Sales Staff for an exciting project to work 5 days a week (Tuesday-Saturday) for the period 16th August – 29th October within key retail stores.”
The job posting appears a number of times on the website, each advertising jobs for different stores in different regions of the UK.
This job posting can be interpreted as a new hint at the possible release of an iPhone 5 (aka 4S) around August 16th. Additional staff will be needed to manage all the customers wanting to get their hands on the newest generation iPhones and possibly buy one. So, this job listing could be an indication for a release during the advertised time period. It is, however, very interesting to notice that Apple doesn’t list these jobs on its own website and seems to be looking for additional staff in the UK only.
If you live in the UK and would like to apply now, be aware that if your application is successful, you will have to attend a four-day long training event in London before the job starts, which will then earn you as much as £75 per day.
