The Internet’s at it again. While the lack of the iPhone 5 at WWDC was enough for most, that hasn’t stopped some from rummaging around the Internet in search for some news on Apple’s next device. Despite the fact that Apple explicitly stated that WWDC was only going to be about the iCloud, iOS 5 and OS X Lion, many still expected the phone to make an appearance.
After all, a new iPhone at WWDC is practically tradition. Still, rumours have already begun to surface that the phone’s reaching production and will land in September. There’s the original April 2011 report from Reuters that laid out a believable timeline:
Apple Inc suppliers will begin production of its next-generation iPhone in July this year, with the finished product likely to begin shipping in September, three people familiar with the matter said on Wednesday.
There’s also the news that the phone has reached the final testing stage and is on track for its Fall launch. Only time will tell but it wouldn’t be surprising if the above was indeed true.
