Square, the company that lets companies and others sell things via credit card payments with their Square reader, has released an update to their app with some minor changes and bug fixes. Recently, there have been rumors that Square had something big on the horizon to do with Apple, but as we all know, we have to take rumors with a grain of salt. Hopefully Square will be announcing something at their conference today.
The new update brings an entirely refreshed UI to the iPhone app and a brand new UI for the iPad. The iPad app now lets you or business owners sort items into shelves for easier management and much needed organizational purposes. The new iPad app aso allows users to create “variations” which are assumed to be similar to categories and allows you to further organize items. The UI is definitely a major focus point in these updates. Showing true, the iPhone app has gotten a UI overhaul to make it look more professional, elegant, and all around classy like all apps should.
Notes from the changelog:
• iPad: Arrange your items into shelves, for easier browsing and faster checkout.
• iPad: Small, medium, large; chocolate, vanilla, strawberry – create variations of your items.
• iPhone: Refined look and feel.
• Minor bug fixes.
You can get Square 2.0 on the App Store but make sure you keep the dial on Macgasm for any new announcements Square might make today.
