If you wish that Apple had brought MicroSD compatibility and an even larger battery to the iPhone 5, you’re in luck as the folks at iExpander will do that for you. iExpander is a Kickstarter project that is seeking a pretty $125,000 in funding and promises to add all of the features that Apple didn’t to the iPhone 4, 4S and 5.
The iExpander brings MicroSD support, Lightning to 30-pin, an extended battery as well as an improved camera flash to the iPhone by stuffing it all into a form fitting case. Your iPhone will be able to interface with a MicroSD card via the iExpander app, which has yet to be submitted to the App Store. However, like most battery cases, the iExpander adds quite a large amount of bulk to the iPhone. In fact, the iExpander will add an additional 6.3mm of thickness to your phone, but hey, you have to give something up for all of those additions, right?
If you’re interested in backing the iExpander and preordering a case for yourself, expect to drop $75 to preorder a case for either your iPhone 4/4S or iPhone 5. The iExpander is currently available in two color variants, black and white, so you can be sure that the case will match your iPhone.
