Good news for iPhone users who were extremely disappointed with Apple Maps. San Francisco-based software developer, Ben Guild, posted a few details about the upcoming Google Maps app for iOS 6, including some leaked low-resolution photos.
Guild says the app is in its alpha build version and will reportedly be vector based, have two-finger rotation for any angle, and be formatted for the iPhone 5’s bigger 4-inch screen. Guild has also said that it’s “super fast.”
Google’s new maps app is also rumored to incorporate Google Earth, so it will really be competition for Apple’s new native Maps product but with much better data. The big questions remaining are, when will Google Maps arrive for iOS 6 and how much can Apple improve its own Maps app before it does?
