Complete My Album Comes To The Music App In iOS 6

The Complete My Album feature of the iTunes Store has been around for years, but it has never been so easy to use before. Reportedly, iOS 6 is adding the ability to complete an album right in the music app.

Mike Beasley, 9to5Mac:

The new button, which appears at the bottom of albums, is a Complete My Album toggle. However, rather than pull the user out of the Music app and into the iTunes Store, the list expands to show the entire album and allows for purchasing the songs directly in the new Music app. The Videos app has been given the same treatment with a Complete My Season feature for buying TV episodes. Screenshots of all of these features can be seen in the gallery below.

This is just the kind of thing we want to see more of in iOS. This is just another small step forward in reducing the amount of app-to-app jumping that is needed. Let’s just hope we’ll eventually be able to have third party apps doing things like this. Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to manipulate and share data all within any app you’re using instead of trying to slowly move data between three or so different apps? While this might not be a huge deal in and of itself, I think it signals a slow changing paradigm.
