A tipster sent us some screen shots of the photo app in iOS 5. At first I was a little confused, but after examining them further, it revealed that Apple’s letting users organize their photos into albums directly from the Camera app, instead of forcing users to do it in iPhoto or the Photos app at a later time.
Now that I sit here and think about it for a moment, having all of your photos go into a Camera Roll for filing later is a little bit backwards. That’s how it’s always been in iOS, and now that iOS 5 is apparently letting users manage their photos at the very beginning, it’s pretty handy.
If the process eliminates the need to organize your photos into events, and instead, you can create a new album, and then snap photos directly into that album immediately, it could be a huge time saver. But, from what we hear, we’re still missing that last step. You can manage photos in the Camera app, but you can’t actually shoot directly to a new folder.
How about changing the Camera Roll into a multiple Camera roll, and instead of being a camera roll, it could actually be labelled an event. It would make shooting photos a the bar for a party one night, and my nephew’s birthday party the next day a lot simpler.
Again, as always, the iOS beta is very early stages so this could change by release.
Thanks to Andy for sending this one in
