Apple gives global developers access to promo codes to promote their application, but in a funny twist, they only let American based iTunes accounts redeem the coupon codes. So, if developers were creating niche specific apps under the assumption that sales would only be local, they were unable to provide local journalists with an easy way to test out the application.
But today, after way too long of a wait, Apple has decided to make coupon codes universal. Canadians, Australians, Germans, and everyone else will now have the luxury of being able to redeem the coupon codes in iTunes.
Can we get a hip-hip-hurrah?
In other news, every single person who needed coupon codes probably already has a US based account. It’s probably better late than never at this point.
