Apple began pre-orders for the white iPad mini early this morning at 3am Eastern/12am Pacific and, according to Mac Rumors, the initial stock of the white iPad mini sold out very fast in the U.S.
Soon after it became available, shipping estimates for the white iPad mini slipped to two weeks, from the original “Delivers 11/2.” This delay in shipping time has caused some to speculate that maybe Apple didn’t have that much stock of the white iPad mini to begin with. It seems likely, though, that Apple’s initial stock was low, rather than very high demand, because other countries have also noted a two week wait time for shipments soon after the iPad mini became available.
In the UK, the 16GB Wi-Fi only black and slate version is now listed as shipping in two weeks, while the 32GB and 64GB models are still available to ship November 2.
If you decided to skip the pre-order process, you might be able to get your hands on an iPad mini when they become available in retail stores on launch day. The Wi-Fi only model will be available on November 2, while the cellular version is expected to arrive by mid-November.
