What’s the one thing people are tired of hearing about lately? Data plans. Having to have multiple dataplans is probably the biggest thing that drives me absolutely crazy these days. I really don’t get why we’re expected to pay for additional dataplans when advertisements are telling us that we can get “unlimited” packages. It seems that Sprint kinda gets that, and they’ve decided that they’ll address that with their MiFi device.
Sure, you’ll need some kind of dataplan to get your MiFi to work, but outside of that one dataplan, all you’ll need is a WiFi enabled devices to gain access to a mobile wireless network. That’s a pretty huge deal, and moving forward, we’re going to start seeing a lot more of these devices popping up.
Sprint’s decided to create an iPad case that includes the MiFi and an iPad sleeve. So, if you’re the type of house that has multiple WiFi iPads, and you don’t want to shell out for the 3G models in the upcoming weeks, you’re going to want to look this over.
Luckily up here in Canada Rogers has enabled free tethering for some of their dataplans. We’re not sure how it’s going to play out with the iPad, but hopefully it’ll be in a way that consumers can get behind.
