Since the release of the Smart Cover for the iPad, many have wondered why Apple would protect the glass, but not the back of the iPad. It looks like Apple may have listened to consumer concerns, announcing today that they have released a new iPad Smart Case that acts much like the Smart Cover, but also covers the back of the iPad.
The iPad Smart Case comes in a variety of colors (grey, blue, green, pink, and red) and will set you back $49.00. You can also personalize the Smart Case by laser engraving a personal message on the polyurethane case for free, courtesy of Apple. If you still want the Smart Cover, those are still available as well.
