Do you like collecting stuff but don’t want to be called a hoarder? We have a solution for you. WallaBee is a new iOS game that allows you to collect pretty items by either buying them, making a location-based check-in or by mixing other items in your pouch. The goal of the game is to find these items as quickly as possible so you have the lowest numbered item and to complete all of the different sets in the game.
If you’re anything like me, you’re probably thinking “what’s the point?” And to be honest, there isn’t any real point to the game except for collecting cool items and completing sets, which is more of a challenge than anything else. Think of it like Foursquare’s badges but a lot more fun and pretty. Not only can you collect items, but you can also sell them to other users for in-game currency, which you can use to buy other items. You can buy items from the store and market. The market allows you to buy standard items, which aren’t as rare. If you would like to buy rarer items, check out the market where you can purchase items that other users are selling.
When doing a location-based checkin, you have the chance to earn a “branded reward”. As of now, these are hard to come by as WallaBee is still a relatively new app. However, once the app reaches prime time we should expect more companies to hop on board and offer branded items. You can also earn normal items by checking in to places that fit a certain category, like coffee shops, parks, etc.
WallaBee also has a social aspect that allows you to view people near you who are also checking in and collecting items. I do wish that there was better integration with Facebook and Twitter to share your check-ins, however you can tell your friends what items you have earned via Facebook and Twitter.
