Just as promised, Tomb Raider: Underworld has been released for the Mac via the App Store. The game launched today for $24.99 USD, and weighs in at about 6.57 gigs. Hooboy.
System Requirements:
OS X 10.6.8 or later. Processor: 1.8 GHz, RAM: 3GB, Graphics: 128MB, Free Space: 8GB. The following graphics cards are not supported: ATI X1xxx series, NVIDIA 7xxx series and Intel GMA series.
The reviews of the game are decent, but we haven’t had enough time to see how good the port is. It wouldn’t be the first time the Mac received a lazy Windows port. We’ll reserve judgement until we get to play it, and the comments start coming in on the App Store.
If you want to explore hidden ruins, fight off ravenous beasts, and perform insane acrobatics, Underworld seems like a good way to do that in the comfort of your own home. Frankly, we’re just glad the asking price wasn’t the full $50-60 that a new game would merit — swallowing that would be too much to bear for a four-year-old game.
