Republique, the stealth-survival game for iOS, Windows, and OS X, has had a bumpy run at Kickstarter. It started off as a console-style game developed from the ground up specifically for iOS. It came out of the gates strong, but the pledges started slowing down. There was a non-trivial number of people who wanted to back the game, but didn’t want to play it on an iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad. The folks making the game, Camouflaj, capitulated and announced a Windows and OS X version of the game as well.
Backing the project for $10 USD gets you the iOS version, $15 USD gets you the desktop version, and $20 gets you both. Various other options are available as well that include rewards like access to the documentary series, physical books, and a specialty iPhone case. The slow building of funds is certainly not for lack of rewards.
As of publication, the project has 27 hours left, and they still need just over $100,000 to be successfully funded. In the past couple of days, the rate of pledging has increased substantially, but they aren’t out of the woods yet. If you want Republique to happen, you need to go to their Kickstarter page and pledge some cold hard cash. It’s now or never, folks.
