Booq has recently released its first iPhone case and has named it the ‘Fibre Snapcase’. The company has chosen to focus in on style and grip with this new case. Attention to both of these aspects can be seen throughout the case’s design due to its grippy and rubberized sides and natural fibre back panel. While the case’s sides may be grippy, the company has still given it a nice, soft touch finish. These sidewalls have been reinforced to allow for protection from damage due to everyday drops and tumbles.
Aside from protection and grip, the Fibre Snapcase is also pretty dang beautiful. The natural fibre rear shell looks very classy and pairs nicely with its rubber sides. When looking at the case, you can tell that its design has been heavily influenced by Booq’s extensive line of backpacks and messenger bags.
Booq’s Lead Designer, S. Kema Subsomboon, has said the following on the case:
The Fibre snapcase is our first venture into iPhone cases, and we’re really excited to finally offer Apple lovers shelter for their most important and used device. We’ve thought about this case for a while, but the challenge was getting those same materials that make our bags highly-durable to translate to such a small piece of casing without compromising design and protection. The natural fiber from the beloved Mamba was just right.
If you’d like to purchase one of these cases for your iPhone 5, expect to spend around $29.95 via Amazon.com. As of now, the case is available in four different colors: gray, black, purple, and sand.
