That cute barista you’re secretly in love with is about to get a little bump in disposable income. Starbucks has announced that it will be bringing tip capabilities to its iOS app. Oh, and on a lesser note, you’ll be able to ‘shake to pay’ too.
From the Starbucks blog:
“Beginning March 19, customers using Starbucks App for iPhone in the U.S., U.K. and Canada will experience a streamlined design and easy access to their account and My Starbucks Rewards information. In addition, customers using the app will have the option to leave a tip at more than 7,000 company-operated Starbucks® stores in the U.S.”
On the shake to pay front, shaking your phone will bring up your Starbucks card immediately within app, making it a lot easier to make a purchase than the previous method which included tapping a button one time.
