Good morning, west coasters. It’s nice of you to join us this morning. We hate to be the bearers of bad news, but it seems like entry to WWDC 2012 isn’t going to be on your agenda this year. By the time you dragged yourself out of bed, cracked open your laptop, and took a sip of your coffee, the conference had completely sold out. Two hours into sales and there isn’t a ticket to be had for anyone living in San Francisco, which we have to admit is equal parts ironic and sad. WWDC 2012 has sold out.
If anything, this year’s WWDC registration and subsequent sellout tells us that Apple needs to do something to accommodate more attendees. Maybe that includes having WWDC in NYC and SF; maybe it means streaming content online for people who are willing to pay but can’t make the trip to the conference because of the sellout. Who knows.
We don’t have the answer, but what we do know is that a lot of people who should really be there didn’t even have a chance to order a ticket because the conference sold out before they even woke up. No matter how you look at it, it’s a pretty big bummer for anyone in the PST time zone.
