Slyboots Apple Hides Adam’s Hand In Patent Filing

Certain Apple CEO’s have been known to confuse themselves from time to time with the Almighty, but Redditor Insightfrankfurt discovered Apple’s pilfering of the hand of Adam in a patent display. The hand in question was actually created by Michaelangelo in 1511(ish) on the ceiling of Rome’s Sistine Chapel, who was hired by Pope Julius II to pretty up the place. The fresco depicts the creation of Adam by God and is one of the most well-known artworks in history. There’s also Adam’s little peanut-sized winky, which we blurred out in the above photo.

Apple snuck Adam’s hand into a 2009 patent application for a touchscreen device (which hasn’t made it to any production models yet). The languid hand is all too familiar as it lifts an extended finger towards the object of its longing, and yet never crosses the tiny divide of space that is between him and his beloved.

I find patent applications excruciatingly dull, so if those who had to draw it up in the first place needed a little smirk, this is a good way to go about it.
