Need To Remove Your Phone Number From iMessages? There’s A Tool For That

If you’ve moved on from the iPhone, and you find your SMS messages disappearing into the ether still, there’s a good chance that your phone number is still attached to the iMessages service. Amidst anticompetitive complaints, Apple has released a new tool to help customers (or is it ex-customers?) ‘deregister’ phone numbers from iMessages.

The new web page, published over the weekend by Apple, will walk you through the steps of turning iMessages off entirely, and then removing your phone number from the iMessage database. The process is as simple as turning off the service, and then putting your phone number into a web form.
