Apple’s annual Back to School promotion is back again in Australia and New Zealand before the new school year starts. As usual, the promotion offers a free gift card with the purchase of a new Mac or certain iOS devices for education. It’s open for students, parents and teachers. Included in this year’s promotion are the MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iMac, Mac Pro, and the iPad with Retina display.
The Back to School promotion is the same as the ones held in North America and Europe last June, but it runs through January 15 to April 1 in Australia and New Zealand.
Almost all Macs are included except for the Mac mini and even refurbished products are eligible too. When buying a new Mac, you’ll receive a A$100 Student Gift card, which can be spent on apps and books to help students with their studies. It can also go towards music or movies.
The iPad with Retina display is also included in the deal and comes with a A$50 Student Gift Card. The iPad is the only iOS device included in the promotion as the iPad 2, iPad mini and refurbished iPads are not eligible.
In previous years, Apple’s Back to School promotions gave students a free iPod touch when purchasing a new Mac, but recently Apple has opted instead for the gift cards.
