As previously reported, Apple announced a whole new lineup of the iPod nano, which features a major redesign of the device. The 7th-generation iPod nano looks like a brand new device, with a combination of the previous model’s touch design and earlier versions’ bigger screens.
The new iPod nano lineup features an anodized aluminum design and is extremely easy to use. The 2.5-inch display is definitely larger than that of the 6th-generation and can display six icons on the screen. Although not running iOS, the touchscreen graphics are bigger, making them easy to press. Although the new iPod nanos are bigger than the previous version, it is still small enough to sit nicely in your hand. This is great for the joggers out there (or those of us who want to be joggers) because it’s easy to hold and run with.
Apple hasn’t noted any internal specifications so the exact processor used in these devices is unclear. Although it’s bigger, you still don’t get web browsing or ebook reading. The touchscreen is bright and sharp and multi-touch functionality works well. The Lightning connector and Bluetooth means putting video and media on the device will be easy, and the bigger screen will make watching video more enjoyable as well.
As noted before, the new lineup of 16GB iPod nanos will be available sometime in October for $149. Make sure to check out some of the photos below so you can see what you have to look forward to.
