For those that don’t know, CasaTunes is a multi-room music server that allows users to hear music anywhere in the house. The operating system has been upgraded to let iPhone and iPad users wirelessly stream audio using Apple’s popular AirPlay feature. CasaTunes 4.0 was announced by the company on Tuesday. It has always been compatibile with Internet-based radio stations, but only worked by using the wired-in speaker systems. The newest upgrade to CasaTunes now includes CasaTunes Air, which ultimately allows users to stream music wirelessly from iOS devices to the server, or wirelessly from CasaTunes to AirPlay-enabled speakers.
The new AirPlay software works on all of CasaTune’s line of multi-room music servers, starting at $1299 for standalone servers. These music servers allow users to chose which room they want to play the music in, provided they are equipped with the sound system. These music servers come ready to play music from Internet-based services like Pandora, Rdio, and Spotify.
CasaTunes’ recent compatibility with AirPlay is a great addition. Check them out or get more details on the CasaTunes website.
