If you’re an education customer of Apple, reports are coming in that you’re seeing a banner on Apple’s Online Store that says the following:
Apple is launching a new online store, which is your tool to shop and place orders with Apple. Proposal creation, order status, and a dramatically simplified user interface will make it easier to do business with Apple — all in a secure and reliable environment.
I attempted to replicate the notification, but there was no such luck. It is possible that only people with accounts linked to K-12 districts, not just personal education shoppers, can see it. In any case, nothing here is controversial, and this information is rather specific, so it is very likely true. Hoaxers don’t have much of a reason to trick people into believing that a part of Apple that almost nobody sees or thinks about is getting a UI refresh.
If you’ve seen this banner when you log into the Apple Education Store, please let us know. You can reach us by commenting on this post or by @messaging us on Twitter. Our username is @macgasm.
